Arajet Advances Safety Culture Through CBTA Dialogue, Plans Fleet Growth

Dominican Republic – Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s expanding low-cost carrier, reaffirmed its commitment to Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) implementation across Latin America and the Caribbean, with Captain Carlos Rodriguez, VP of Flight Operations, participating in a key panel discussion during the ALTA Aviation Safety, Flight Ops & Training Summit 2025.

  • Rodriguez joined the panel titled “Implementing CBTA in the Region”, sharing operational and training insights alongside regional leaders during the ALTA-hosted forum.

  • The summit, organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), brought together aviation safety, training, and operations professionals to discuss emerging standards and regulatory alignment.

  • Arajet emphasized its role in shaping a competency-driven safety culture and building a more operationally prepared pilot workforce.

  • Rodriguez highlighted the importance of collaboration, noting the value of exchanging frontline training experiences and lessons from across the Americas.

The summit comes as Arajet continues to scale operations, with 10 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft currently in service and five additional aircraft set to join the fleet in 2026 and 2027, supporting network growth across the Americas.
