Digital Aviation Training Publisher Padpilot Launches Area 100 KSA Courseware for Pilot Training Providers
Gloucester, United Kingdom – Digital aviation publisher Padpilot has announced the release of new courseware designed to support Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) in delivering mandatory Area 100 KSA (Knowledge, Skills & Attitude) training for the ATPL theoretical knowledge syllabus.
Mandatory since January 2022, EASA/CAA Area 100 KSA requires ATOs to embed competency-based training and assessment within the ATPL theory phase of commercial pilot training. Padpilot’s new KSA module offers ATOs a complete package of teaching, learning and assessment resources for that requirement.
“Recognising that meaningful KSA training takes time to design, deliver and assess – and that instructors are busier than ever – we’ve launched a comprehensive KSA course that’s engaging, productive and easy to implement,” said Nathan Gray, CEO of Padpilot. “Developed with regulatory KSA advisors and our experienced Subject Matter Experts, the new course supports ATOs in developing ‘thinking pilots’, better prepared for the demands of modern airline operations, right from the beginning of commercial training.”
The Padpilot Area 100 KSA course is a one-time purchase for ATOs and is hosted within Padpilot’s existing Learning Management System. The course provides instructors with all necessary tools and content, including ready-to-use lesson plans, detailed instructor and student briefings, practical exercises, and a robust assessment framework. Built around a structured sequence of modules and activities – including formative and summative assessments, Threat & Error Management (TEM) and dedicated Mental Maths training. The emphasis throughout Padpilot’s 100 KSA Course is on applying theoretical knowledge to real-world aviation contexts and developing essential pilot competencies to give ATPL theory students a career-focused start to commercial pilot training.
