Head of Operations of Malaysia Airlines Academy, Capt Muhamad Nizar, to Speak at Indonesia Aero Summit 2025

Jakarta, Indonesia – The 2nd annual Indonesia Aero Summit 2025 (IAS 2025) will take place in Jakarta on 30–31 July 2025, with participation from leading aviation stakeholders across Southeast Asia. The event is officially supported by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and hosted by the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA).

  • IAS 2025 aims to serve as a central industry platform to address key challenges and opportunities across the Indonesian and ASEAN aviation ecosystem.

  • The summit will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and exhibition showcases focused on fleet growth, infrastructure development, training capacity, sustainability, and regional integration.

  • Indonesia remains the largest aviation market in ASEAN, representing 27% of total regional capacity as of December 2024, with 11.2 million seats recorded.

  • The country is projected to become the sixth-largest air transport market globally by 2034, with an expected 390 million annual passengers.

  • The long-term demand forecast indicates a need for at least 1,000 new aircraft over the next two decades, driven by annual passenger traffic growth of 7.4%, which is more than twice the global average.

Speaker Announcement:

  • Captain Muhamad Nizar Abdul Bari, Head of Operations at Malaysia Airlines Academy (MAB Academy), has been confirmed as a speaker at IAS 2025. He will contribute to discussions on regional training development and airline readiness strategies.
