Australia – Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) has appointed Andrew Messer as Chief Operating Officer.
- The academy operates campuses at Wagga Wagga in New South Wales and Ballarat in Victoria, with a combined residential Commercial Pilot Licence training capacity exceeding 400 cadets annually.
- AAPA has delivered training for airlines including Air China, Hainan Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Scoot, Qatar Airways, China Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Air Arabia and its parent airline Rex. Its programmes have received approvals from aviation authorities in Australia, China, Singapore, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.
- The academy’s published fleet comprises Piper Warrior, Piper Seminole, Beechcraft King Air B200, Cessna 152 Aerobat, Cessna 172S and Beechcraft C90GTi aircraft. Its training-device inventory includes a Saab 340 Level C full-flight simulator, CKAS ST44 and ALSIM AL172 devices and additional synthetic trainers.
- AAPA is part of the Rex Group. Rex states that Regional Express Holdings is now wholly owned by US aviation services company Air T, Inc.
