Global – Full Flight Simulator manufacturer and training center operator Avion, FlyDrive aircraft developer PAL-V and mobility ecosystem company FLYVE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore joint development of training devices and an international training infrastructure for gyrocopter and FlyDrive pilots. The agreement was signed during TiEcon Amsterdam 2026.
- Avion’s two existing flight training centers in London and Mumbai will be assessed for potential co-use in PAL-V and FLYVE gyrocopter and FlyDrive training programs, while the companies will also evaluate additional satellite training centers in other markets.
- The parties plan to jointly develop dedicated flight training devices as part of a wider training ecosystem combining gyrocopters, simulators and supporting infrastructure.
- PAL-V already operates its FlyDrive Academy, where its published training pathway is structured across six five-day modules combining practical flying, theoretical instruction and simulator exercises toward gyroplane pilot licensing.
- Under the MoU, Avion will contribute its experience in simulator development, manufacturing, maintenance, lifecycle support and the establishment and operation of flight training centers. Avion currently manufactures Full Flight Simulators for the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 NG/MAX.
- Avion currently operates training centers at London Luton Airport and Mumbai. Its London operation houses one Level D Airbus A320neo Full Flight Simulator, while its wider training-center network operates under EASA, UK CAA and Indian DGCA qualification frameworks.
- The next stage of the cooperation will be the development of a roadmap defining the potential scope of the partnership and the roles and responsibilities of Avion, PAL-V and FLYVE.
- For the aviation training sector, the agreement would extend Avion’s training-device and center-development activities beyond its current commercial airline simulator focus into gyrocopter and FlyDrive training, while providing PAL-V with a potential route to scale training geographically as its customer base develops.
- AFM previously reported that Avion expanded its Mumbai training operation with two Level D Airbus A320neo Full Flight Simulators, while its London Luton center operates an A320neo FFS supporting airline and training-organisation customers.
