August 26, 2026

Lithuania –  BAA Training has announced that four Qatar Airways Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) programme cadets from two June 2026 graduating groups have completed their training and are progressing into Second Officer ranks with the Doha-based airline.

  • The June completions followed another Qatar Airways MPL graduation announced by BAA Training in May 2026 in Vilnius, attended by Qatar Airways Cadet Training Manager Captain Talal H H Alsalem and a Qatar Civil Aviation Authority examiner.
  • BAA Training subsequently welcomed another 16 Qatar Airways MPL cadets in July 2026.
  • AFM previously reported that BAA Training and Qatar Airways signed a five-year MPL training agreement in April 2025 covering up to 150 cadets annually, with the first intake beginning that month. Training under the program is conducted in Lithuania and Spain and includes theoretical instruction, single-engine flight training, multi-engine training using FNPT II devices and Airbus A320 simulator training.
  • Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority granted BAA Training provisional approval in April 2025 to provide MPL ground training for Qatar Airways cadets under ATO approval QAT-ATO-027, initially authorising the first course identified as QR15.
