Texas, USA – US aircraft manufacturer Boeing has introduced Dataliner, an artificial intelligence-powered aircraft data intelligence platform developed in partnership with technology company Microsoft. Announced on October 20, 2026, the platform combines aviation data with Boeing's aircraft engineering knowledge to support airline fleet management, maintenance planning and operational decision-making.

  • Dataliner will provide a common data foundation for five identified Boeing Digital Services products, including two new solutions under development—Asset Lifecycle Planning and TechOps AI Agent—and three existing products: Airplane Health Management, Insight Accelerator and Maintenance Performance Toolbox.
  • The platform is designed to consolidate aircraft condition information, maintenance records and operational data, allowing airlines to identify fleet-wide patterns rather than evaluating aircraft individually. Boeing says this approach can help operators anticipate maintenance requirements, identify emerging technical risks and make operational decisions using connected data.
  • Airlines will be able to retain information within their own data environments while accessing Boeing's aircraft and industry intelligence. The arrangement allows operators to control the information they share without transferring all operational data into a single centralised platform.
  • The system is primarily directed at airline technical operations, aircraft maintenance and fleet management.
  • Dataliner was developed using Microsoft's Azure AI Foundry and data technologies alongside other systems. Its architecture supports access to Boeing intelligence through applications, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), analytics and AI-enabled interfaces, while incorporating access controls, encryption, monitoring and flexible data-sharing capabilities.
  • AFM previously reported that Boeing retained its aircraft maintenance, diagnostics and fleet services capabilities following the divestiture of several digital aviation businesses in 2025. The introduction of Dataliner builds on the manufacturer's retained digital services portfolio.

Statements

  • “Airlines have more data available to them than ever before, but turning that data into meaningful action remains a challenge. Dataliner is an important step in how Boeing is bringing its aircraft expertise and digital capabilities together to help customers anticipate maintenance needs, identify emerging risks and take timely action,” said Lindsey Douglas, Vice President, Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance and Digital Services, Boeing Global Services.
  • “By combining Boeing's OEM and aviation expertise with Microsoft's trusted data and AI technologies, Dataliner gives airlines a secure, scalable foundation to turn fragmented data into fleet-wide intelligence,” said Chris Barry, President, U.S. Public Sector Industries, Microsoft.
