CAE Adds ALSIM FNPT II Capacity to France-Germany Initial Flight Training Network

France – CAE Defense & Security has received approval for an additional ALSIM FNPT II simulator at its flight training center in Montpellier, France, expanding synthetic training capacity at the site and complementing CAE's existing simulator infrastructure in Bremen, Germany.

• CAE's Initial Flight Training Deutschland (IFTD) operation provides academic, simulator and live-flight training to more than 40 student pilots annually, with training activity divided between the CAE Bremen Training Centre and its Montpellier operation.
• The device adds synthetic capacity in Montpellier alongside the simulator fleet already operated by CAE in Bremen. CAE's published IFTD training structure allocates the Single-Engine/Instrument Rating phase to Montpellier, while theoretical training, Multi-Engine/Instrument Rating, Multi-Crew Cooperation, Upset Prevention and Recovery Training and the military pilot licence phase are conducted in Bremen.
• CAE's Montpellier operation has also expanded its live-flight capacity during 2026. A CAE flight training team update earlier this year identified new facilities on the ENAC campus, a fleet increased to nine Diamond DA40 NG aircraft and a new arrangement allowing the location to train ENAC cadets in addition to German Air Force students.
• CAE's current corporate reporting continues to identify Bremen and Montpellier as its European ab-initio training locations for the German Air Force. The company originally secured the German military initial flight training contract in 2022 for seven years, with an option for a further five years.
• CAE's published IFTD information states that CAE-owned Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft are used to support single- and multi-engine flight training requirements across the program.
