India – Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA), a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-approved flight training organisation, has held its October 2026 Letter of Intent (LOI) ceremony for Batch ICP 15 of the CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program, welcoming another group of aspiring airline pilots into its structured training pathway with IndiGo.

  • CAA's published IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program is structured as a 20-month full-time training pathway covering ground school, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training and subsequent Airbus A320 type rating preparation.
  • The latest LOI event brought together newly selected cadets and their families as the academy prepared the 15th batch for its training journey.
  • Ground-school training is conducted at CAA's facility in Gurugram, while practical flight training takes place at its Dhana and Neemuch airbases in Madhya Pradesh. The flying phase comprises 185 hours on single-engine aircraft, 15 hours on Diamond DA42 multi-engine aircraft and 30 hours of simulator training. Following CPL completion, cadets progress to Airbus A320 type rating training, incorporating Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Training (JOT), at an IndiGo-approved training partner.
  • AFM previously reported that CAA inducted 74 cadets into Batch ICP 14 on September 17, 2026, its largest reported single intake under the IndiGo program.
