Czech Republic & Vietnam – Czech flight training organisation F AIR welcomed a new group of five Vietnam Airlines and Viet Flight Training (VFT) cadets to its Karlovy Vary Airport base on September 23, 2026, continuing the overseas practical-training pipeline supporting Vietnam Airlines-linked pilot development.
- F AIR delivers specialised cadet training for Vietnam Airlines, with programs aligned to both EASA requirements and Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam standards. Its international cadet activity at Karlovy Vary includes airline-specific syllabi, multi-crew preparation and practical flight training.
- Viet Flight Training is a CAAV-approved pilot training organisation established by Vietnam Airlines in 2008.
- VFT’s basic pilot pathway includes overseas practical-training options for Commercial Pilot Licence, Instrument Rating and multi-engine training. The program's overseas phase typically lasts six to 12 months before cadets return to Vietnam for ATP theory, MCC and jet-orientation training.
- F AIR received CAAV approval in 2023 to train Vietnamese students and lists VFT among its international training partners. The Czech academy states that it operates more than 40 training aircraft, has trained more than 3,000 graduates and uses Karlovy Vary as its primary international cadet base, with accommodation for more than 100 students.
- AFM previously reported that F AIR welcomed five VFT cadets to Karlovy Vary in July 2026 for the next stage of professional pilot training. That intake was identified as the seventh VFT cohort trained through the Czech provider, making the September arrival a continuation of an established Vietnam Airlines-linked pipeline.
