Flight Training Group US Aviation Academy Expands Georgia Infrastructure Under 10-Year Military Training Contract

Georgia, USA – Fayette County Development Authority has led the acquisition of more than 34 acres at Atlanta Regional Airport – Falcon Field that will be transferred to the Peachtree City Airport Authority, with signed leases supporting expanded flight-training operations including US Aviation Academy’s growing Peachtree City campus. The development adds airport land and infrastructure capacity at one of the locations supporting US Aviation Academy’s 10-year, $835.6 million US Air Force Initial Pilot Training contract, increasing the physical capacity available for military and civilian pilot training in Georgia.

• More than 34 acres of property known as Area D have been secured, with the Peachtree City Airport Authority set to own and manage the land. Fayette County Development Authority coordinated the transaction with the Airport Authority, Peachtree City and Fayette County.
• Leases have already been signed within Area D for a flight school and expanded flight-training operations, a fuel farm and additional hangar development.
• US Aviation Academy is expanding its existing operation at Falcon Field as it introduces US Air Force Initial Pilot Training at Peachtree City. The academy already describes the Georgia campus as an active location for the Air Force programme.
• US Aviation Academy holds a 10-year, $835.6 million US Air Force contract running through December 2035 to provide Initial Pilot Training using contractor-supplied aircraft, simulators, curriculum and instructors. AFM previously reported that the programme provides approximately 110 flight hours within a maximum 139-day training period, leading through Private Pilot, Instrument and Multi-Engine qualifications before trainees progress into military-operated pilot training.
• Peachtree City forms part of US Aviation Academy’s multi-campus delivery network for the Air Force contract alongside locations in Texas. US Aviation Academy stated when announcing the contract that it had invested more than $30 million in aircraft and real estate during 2025, including more than 50 glass-cockpit Tecnam and Cessna aircraft and planned additional infrastructure at Peachtree City.
• The airport expansion is being accompanied by federal infrastructure investment. The Fayette County Development Authority announcement states that the FAA has committed nearly $10 million toward construction of a new air traffic control tower at Falcon Field as activity at the airport increases.
• US Aviation Academy’s Peachtree City operation provides FAA Part 141 training covering Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial and instructor qualifications. The academy says the campus also has self-examining authority, allowing qualifying students to progress through certain programme checks without dependence on external examiners.
• The academy states that the Air Force training operation is also supporting instructor demand at Peachtree City, with the campus able to hire up to and sometimes more than 95% of eligible instructor graduates as the military programme increases aircraft and instructor utilisation.
• AFM previously reported that US Aviation Academy entered the Atlanta-area market in November 2024 through the acquisition of Flyt Aviation’s assets at Falcon Field. AFM subsequently reported in July 2026 that US Aviation Academy was operating more than 230 aircraft organisation-wide while delivering the USAF Initial Pilot Training contract across multiple campuses.
