India & Russia – Indian aviation company Sleek Aviation and Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering the potential acquisition of regional turboprops and establishment of a dedicated training centre at the operator's facility in India.

The MoU covers 35 Il-114-300 aircraft as well as an Il-114-300 training centre equipped with a full-flight simulator.
The agreement remains preliminary. Delivery schedules, maintenance arrangements and any obligations covering localisation of Il-114-300 components in India are expected to be defined through separate contracts, while UAC CEO Vadim Badekha said the manufacturer is targeting its first firm Indian contracts before the end of 2026.
For the pilot training sector, the inclusion of a full-flight simulator from the outset would allow Sleek Aviation to develop training infrastructure alongside the proposed fleet rather than relying exclusively on overseas capacity. UAC has also identified personnel training, service and maintenance among the areas that could form part of a wider industrial partnership in India if the program advances.
The agreement was signed at INNOPROM India in New Delhi on September 10, 2026. UAC simultaneously signed a separate preliminary agreement covering 50 additional Il-114-300 aircraft for another Indian customer Pinnacle Air, taking its total potential Indian commitments announced at the event to 85 aircraft.
Sleek Aviation is a Gurugram, Haryana-based private company incorporated in 2018 and registered under an Indian business classification covering non-scheduled air transport.
UAC received the Russian type certificate for the Il-114-300 on June 5, 2026, enabling the program to move into serial production. The manufacturer lists a flight crew of two and capacity for up to 68 passengers, with two TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines, a five-screen digital flight and navigation system, 450 km/h cruise speed and a 1,400 km range with the maximum passenger load.
