India– IndiGo strengthens its wide-body fleet ambitions with additional Airbus A350 commitment. The airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus to confirm an order for 30 more A350 aircraft, building on its initial order placed in 2024.
IndiGo’s first firm order of 30 Airbus A350 aircraft was announced in 2024, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.With the latest MoU, the total number of A350s now reaches 60, reflecting IndiGo’s continued investment in long-haul capabilities. This follows IndiGo’s record-breaking order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft made in 2023, one of the largest in commercial aviation history. The fleet expansion comes as India’s aviation market prepares for a forecasted doubling of passenger traffic by 2030 compared to 2025.As the airline sector scales rapidly, attention is also turning toward aviation training infrastructure and workforce readiness to meet future demand for skilled professionals.
