Italy's Cantor Air Hosts Airline Flight Academy for APS MCC Training Briefing in October 2026

October 26, 2026

Italy – Italian flight training organisation Cantor Air hosted representatives from Dublin-based Airline Flight Academy (AFA), an approved Ryanair training and recruitment partner, at its new Training Center in Mozzo, Bergamo, on October 14, 2026. The session introduced students approaching the completion of their flight training to AFA's Whitetail APS MCC and Ryanair Mentored APS MCC courses, outlining the requirements and training pathways for transitioning into multi-crew airline operations.

  • AFA's APS MCC course structure includes 16 hours of computer-based training, 40 hours of classroom instruction, 40 hours of simulator training and 20 hours of briefing and debriefing, followed by a final APS MCC assessment.
  • Killian Hanratty, Commercial Manager at Airline Flight Academy, met with Cantor Air students to explain the differences between the two courses. The Ryanair Mentored pathway includes an application and pre-assessment process, followed by an APS MCC course and subsequent Ryanair type rating assessment. The Whitetail APS MCC provides an alternative route for eligible pilots seeking multi-crew training without entering the Ryanair-specific selection process.
  • AFA conducts its APS MCC training using Boeing 737 MAX simulation equipment at its Dublin training center, introducing students to multi-crew procedures, airline standard operating procedures and crew coordination in a jet-aircraft environment.
  • AFM previously reported that Cantor Air cadets visited AFA's Dublin training facility in May 2025 to explore the provider's airline-oriented APS MCC courses. The organisations have maintained an established training relationship supporting Cantor Air graduates progressing towards airline selection.
