Malaysia – Malaysian flight training provider ADMAL Flying Academy has acquired an ALSIM AL250 flight simulator to strengthen its Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) and Frozen ATPL training programs. The acquisition will provide cadets with additional simulator-based procedural and instrument training before progressing to aircraft operations.

  • ADMAL Flying Academy's integrated pilot training program comprises 830 hours of ground school instruction at ADMAL Aviation College in Sepang, followed by 200 flight hours at Kuala Terengganu Airport, including 165 hours of single-engine and 35 hours of multi-engine training.
  • The new simulator will support training progression into the academy's Piper Warrior PA28-161 and Piper Seneca III PA34-220T aircraft, allowing students to develop handling and instrument flying skills in a repeatable training environment before undertaking corresponding aircraft exercises.
  • ALSIM reports that more than 125 AL250 simulators have been installed worldwide, with the model used by flight training organisations for ab initio, commercial pilot and instrument rating training.
  • The AL250 supports Private Pilot Licence (PPL), CPL, Instrument Rating and Multi-Engine training through reconfigurable single-engine piston (SEP) and multi-engine piston (MEP) flight models. It offers conventional and glass cockpit configurations and is available with EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 qualifications, including Instrument Proficiency Check capability.

Statements

  • “Recently, ADMAL engaged with ALSIM for the acquisition of the ALSIM AL250 mainly to strengthen our current training program and bring advanced standards to basic-level training. The new simulator will be deployed to enhance the academy’s flight training, giving cadets access to realistic, repeatable procedural and instrument training while they progress to ADMAL’s fleet of Piper Warrior and Piper Seneca aircraft. Investing in the ALSIM AL250 reflects our commitment to giving ADMAL cadets training that matches modern airline standards. It gives us a safe, cost-efficient way to build handling and instrument skills to a consistently high level before cadets ever step into one of our aircraft, and it reinforces our position as the only ATO in the region offering the complete CPL/IR and Frozen ATPL pathway alongside our own maintenance and engineering training,” said Adam S Malek, Operating Officer at ADMAL Flying Academy.
  • "It has been a pleasure working with Adam and the ADMAL Flying Academy team on this project. We quickly identified the AL250 as a good fit for their training needs, especially with the flexibility to cover both single-engine and multi-engine training. It is also great to see another training organization in Southeast Asia investing in modern simulation technology to support the next generation of pilots. I am very happy to welcome ADMAL Flying Academy to the ALSIM community and look forward to supporting their development in Malaysia in the coming years,” said Maximilien Le Moing, Sales Manager at ALSIM.
