India – D Y Patil Aviation Academy (DYPAA), a new flight-training venture linked to the D Y Patil Group, is preparing to establish a Flying Training Organisation in Maharashtra and has signed for 10 Cirrus SR20 G7+ TRAC aircraft, according to Cirrus Aircraft’s authorised Indian sales agent AirLuxxis. The academy has identified Navi Mumbai as its head-office location and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar as its planned airbase.

  • AirLuxxis disclosed in its July 2026 Altair newsletter that D Y Patil Aviation Academy had signed up for 10 Cirrus SR20 G7+ TRAC aircraft. AirLuxxis described the transaction as India’s first SR20 TRAC fleet order and stated that DYPAA would become the first flying school in India to operate the configuration; these first-in-India.
  • AirLuxxis is directly involved in Cirrus aircraft sales in the country.
  • AirLuxxis separately announced during 2026 that the Cirrus SR20 G7+ TRAC had been officially type accepted in India.
  • Cirrus currently markets the TRAC20 as the SR20-based member of its purpose-built flight-training range. The aircraft uses a 215 hp Lycoming IO-390-C3B6 engine, Cirrus Perspective Touch+ avionics and has a published useful load of 1,028 lb / 469 kg. Cirrus describes the TRAC Series as intended for professional flight-training institutions and high-utilisation training environments.
  • Cirrus introduced the G7+ generation across the SR20, SR22 and SR22T product range with Safe Return Emergency Autoland and subsequently incorporated the generation into its 2026 aircraft offering. The manufacturer’s 2026 SR Series also includes Automatic Database Updates, Runway Occupancy Awareness and Smart Pitot Heat.
