Florida, USA – Miami-based simulator training provider Pan Am Flight Academy has upgraded its Airbus A330 Level D Full Flight Simulator from Standard 2.4 to Standard 2.5, updating its Honeywell and Thales flight management systems and enabling RNP AR capability.

  • The CAE-manufactured A330 simulator is an FAA Level D device located at Pan Am Flight Academy's Axis Park facility in Hialeah, Florida. It supports Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-60, General Electric CF6-80E1A3 and Pratt & Whitney PW4170 engine configurations and uses a six-axis electric motion system and CAE Tropos 6200 visual system.
  • Pan Am acquired and relocated the device from Bahrain to Florida in 2024. It was initially installed with Airbus Standard 2.4, Thales and Honeywell flight-management capability, TCAS 7.1, EGPWS and UPRT functionality before entering training operations later that year.
  • The A330 FFS received EASA qualification in 2026 in addition to its existing FAA qualification, allowing the device to support customers operating under the European regulatory framework.

Pan Am's September 2026 material states that it owns more than 24 simulators, while its current simulator directory covers A320, A330, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777 and Saab 340 platforms.
