Portugal – EASA Approved Training Organization International Flight Academy (IFA) has started a new ATPL training class at its Viseu base, with 15 student pilots beginning their professional pilot training in late September 2026.

  • IFA’s Integrated ATPL(A) course can be completed over either 16 or 24 months and combines theoretical instruction, flight training and simulator training toward commercial pilot qualifications.
  • The academy currently advertises approximately 30 training aircraft and four simulators across its three Portuguese bases in Cascais, Viseu and Braga.
  • The Viseu site supports both ab-initio flying and advanced synthetic training. IFA’s Boeing 737 MAX-configured FNPT II device at Viseu received Portuguese ANAC certification in August 2026 for MCC and APS MCC training.
