Portugal – Portuguese flight training organisation Sevenair Academy has hosted senior training representatives from Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) at its Ponte de Sor training base, as part of the Airbus Flight Academy–ANA pilot training partnership. The visit provided the airline's representatives with a first-hand view of the facilities and training standards supporting its international cadet training pathway.

  • The partnership provides for an initial intake of 19 ANA Group and partner-airline cadets, scheduled to begin ab-initio pilot training in Portugal before the end of 2026 under the Airbus Flight Academy framework.
  • During the visit, ANA's senior training representatives examined Sevenair Academy's training environment and facilities, providing an opportunity for direct engagement between the airline and the organisation responsible for delivering its cadet flight training.
  • The training arrangement will use a unified Airbus curriculum, incorporating Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA). The pathway is designed to take candidates with no previous flying experience through the initial training phases required to become licensed pilots.
  • The visit follows Sevenair Academy's October 20 announcement that it was adding five Diamond DA40 aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics to its Ponte de Sor training fleet, expanding aircraft availability and operational flexibility as the academy increases cadet training capacity.
