Singapore Flying College's C279 Cohort of 27 Cadets Completes Ground School in August 2026

Singapore & Australia – Singapore Flying College (SFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines established in 1988 to provide ab-initio and advanced pilot training, has confirmed that its 27-member C279 cadet cohort completed ground school in Singapore on August 13, 2026.

• SFC conducts its Singapore activities from the SIA Training Centre at 720 Upper Changi Road East and maintains flight-training operations in Australia, including its established Jandakot Airport facility in Western Australia. The college is also conducting training activity at Tamworth in New South Wales.
• SFC’s training programmes are approved by both the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Its published programmes include CAAS Multi-Crew Pilot Licence and Commercial Pilot Licence training, as well as CASA CPL, Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and ATPL theory courses.
• The college’s published training fleet uses Garmin G1000-equipped Cessna 172 aircraft for ab-initio training and Piper PA-44 Seminoles for multi-engine training. SFC also lists Frasca 141 and 242 training devices, while MPL cadets subsequently use CAE 7000XR full-flight simulators at the SIA Training Centre during later phases of training.
