USA — Skyfarer, the marketplace connecting pilots with flight instructors, flight schools, and aviation services, announced a sweeping set of new features arriving just ahead of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026. The releases span training organization, search and discovery, provider trust signals, and communication — all aimed at one goal: getting more people from "I want to fly" to the left seat, faster.
"Finding the right instructor is still one of the hardest parts of learning to fly — harder than it should be in 2026," said Nick Tsang, founder and CEO of Skyfarer. "This summer's releases address that problem from many sides: a dashboard that keeps a pilot's training life in one place, conversations where documents flow as easily as messages, and signals about who actually responds. Everything we ship is measured by one thing — how quickly a pilot gets from searching to flying."
Tracking Dashboard: Every Session, Hour, and Aircraft in One Place
The new Tracking Dashboard gives every Skyfarer user a single view of their flying life on the platform: upcoming and past training sessions, booked hours, and the aircraft flown — including private aircraft details like tail number, make and model, and flight purpose (training, checkride prep, flight review, and more), visible only to the people in the booking. Students see everything they've booked; flight instructors and schools get the mirror view of the sessions they deliver — a quick answer to "who's flying with me this week?" There's nothing to set up: the Tracking Dashboard builds itself from a user's bookings.
File Sharing in Conversations: Documents Where the Training Happens
Training runs on documents — syllabi, quotes, invoices, endorsements, logbook pages. Skyfarer conversations now carry file attachments directly in the message thread, so students and providers can exchange documents without bouncing to email. Attachments unlock once a booking is confirmed, keeping first-contact conversations clean and protecting both sides until a real training relationship is established.
Message Read Receipts: Transparency in Every Conversation
Students and providers can now see when their messages have been read, with a simple "Read" indicator and date on every conversation thread — ending the "did they even see it?" guessing game that stalls training relationships before they start.
Multi‑Location Listings: Found at Every Airport Served
Many flight instructors, schools, and aviation professionals operate from more than a single ramp — and now their listings don't have to either. Every listing can include a second service location, and Premium listings can publish up to eight, each one discoverable in local searches around that airport. A CFI teaching out of three fields across two counties now appears in searches near all of them, with search results showing the full reach at a glance ("+2 more locations"). For multi-airport schools and traveling instructors, it turns one listing into a regional presence.
"Highly Responsive" Badges: Trust Signals That Mean Something
Search results now spotlight providers who actually answer. The "Highly responsive" badge appears only on listings whose owners consistently reply to inquiries quickly. There's no negative counterpart — the signal exists purely to highlight the instructors, schools, and sellers who respond fast, so future pilots know where a message won't go unanswered.
One‑Click FAA Registry Lookup: Verify Before Inquiring
Every aircraft-for-sale listing on Skyfarer now carries an FAA N-Number Inquiry button that opens the official FAA registry record for that exact tail number — pre-filled, one click, no retyping. Buyers can confirm registration status, the registered owner, and airworthiness details straight from the source before ever sending an inquiry, bringing the kind of due-diligence workflow serious aircraft shoppers already follow directly into the listing page. It's a small button with a big message: Skyfarer wants buyers verifying, not guessing.
Search That Keeps Up: Category-Aware, Map-Accurate, Nationwide
A redesigned search experience keeps the selected category — CFIs, flight schools, aircraft, gear — locked in as visitors explore, defaulting to flight instructors, the most common reason pilots arrive. Map browsing now respects subcategory filters, and the Pilot Supplies & Gear catalog searches nationwide, reflecting how products actually ship.
Favorites, Organized for Real Decisions
Saved listings now group by category with filtering and sorting — so comparing three CFIs, two headsets, and an aircraft no longer means scrolling one jumbled list.
