Texas, USA – US Aviation Group, operator of US Aviation Academy, has hosted Texas Governor Greg Abbott at its San Marcos campus, highlighting the group's role in training future US Air Force pilots and FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics. The visit draws attention to the academy's expanding military flight training activities and aviation maintenance workforce development programs in Central Texas.
- US Aviation Academy secured a 10-year, US$835.6 million US Air Force Initial Pilot Training (IPT) contract in December 2025, covering foundational flight training for military student pilots through December 2035. The program includes training operations in Denton, San Marcos and New Braunfels, Texas, as well as Peachtree City, Georgia.
- The San Marcos training location forms part of the academy's Central Texas operations, which support Private Pilot, Instrument Rating and Multi-Engine training for US Air Force candidates using FAA-approved training curricula, aircraft and flight simulation equipment.
- US Aviation Academy also operates an FAA Part 147 aircraft maintenance training facility at San Marcos Regional Airport, offering an accelerated eight-month A&P program and a 15-month part-time evening program. The curriculum covers general aviation maintenance, airframe systems and powerplant training, preparing students for FAA certification examinations.
- The academy invested more than US$30 million in aircraft and real estate during 2025 in preparation for its expanded military training operations. The investments included more than 50 glass-cockpit Tecnam and Cessna aircraft, a 20,000-square-foot hangar and office facility in New Braunfels, and additional training infrastructure across its network.
- AFM previously reported that US Aviation Academy had expanded to approximately 230 aircraft, 2,000 active students and 260,000 square feet of facilities by March 2026, reflecting the scale of its nationwide aviation training operations.
