Adani Defence and Aerospace Appoints Vineet Sood as Chief Financial Officer

India – Indian defense and aerospace group Adani Defence and Aerospace has appointed Vineet Sood as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing an executive with experience in airline financial management and operations into its leadership team. The appointment is relevant to the group's aviation training activities following its investment in full flight simulator and pilot training provider Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC).

• Sood previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Indian regional airline Alliance Air from July 2021 until September 2024, following earlier appointments as Chief Financial Officer at Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Nigeria's Dana Air.
• A qualified Chartered Accountant, Sood has more than two decades of experience in aviation finance and management, including financial planning, budgeting, corporate governance and airline operations.
• Sood has also held management responsibilities at FSTC. In July 2026, he was identified as the company's Chief Operating Officer during the Aero Career Summit in New Delhi.
• AFM previously reported that Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd, together with Prime Aero Services LLP, agreed in November 2025 to acquire a majority stake in FSTC at an enterprise valuation of INR 820 crore (approximately US$92 million at the time).
• The investment expanded Adani Defence and Aerospace's participation in commercial and military aviation training, including ab initio flying instruction, aircraft type ratings and recurrent simulator training.
• FSTC's previously reported training infrastructure comprises 11 full flight simulators covering Airbus A320, Boeing 737, ATR 72-600 and Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, alongside 17 training aircraft supporting commercial pilot training operations.
