Advisory Firm AviatDO Brings Airline Training Leaders Together in August 2026

Global – Aviation advisory firm AviatDO has held the first meeting of its Pilot Training & Development Working Group under the AviatDO 360 Global Aviation Training & Development Initiative, bringing together airline and training-industry representatives to examine pilot development across Latin America. The group creates a regional forum for coordination on CBTA and EBT implementation, simulator capacity, instructor development and regulatory alignment across the pilot-training lifecycle.

• Senior pilot training representatives from seven organisations participated in the first meeting:
  • Viva Aerobus,
  • Aeromexico,
  • Aeromexico Connect,
  • Copa Airlines,
  • LATAM Airlines,
  • CAE and
  • IATA.
• Discussions covered the pilot-development pathway from ab initio training and airline preparation through initial type ratings, recurrent training, command development and instructor and evaluator development.
• Initial areas identified for further regional collaboration include:
  • Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA),
  • Evidence-Based Training (EBT),
  • training capacity,
  • simulation and new training technologies,
  • instructor development,
  • regulatory alignment and
  • future pilot competencies.
• AviatDO’s wider training initiative is structured around pilot training, maintenance workforce development, air traffic control and airport training, and leadership development. Its published programme also identifies simulator strategy, instructor standardisation, data-driven training and training-system performance among its areas of focus.
• The organisation’s current website lists the AviatDO 360 Global Aviation Training & Development Forum for September 28, 2027 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
• AFM previously reported that AviatDO partnered with Hinfact in January 2025 to support the expansion of pilot training technology and CBTA/EBT solutions across the Americas.
