Switzerland – AELO Swiss Academy is conducting a 10-day Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (A-UPRT) program for pilots from Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) at Grenchen Airport (LSZG). The training forms part of AELO's relationship as an official SWISS partner flight school and demonstrates its capability to deliver dedicated airline training outside its main Locarno base.

  • The course involves 19 SWISS pilots and three training aircraft, comprising two Diamond DV20s and one Extra 200, with AELO coordinating instructors, aircraft and operational support over the 10-day training period.
  • The Grenchen deployment represents a separate training activity from AELO's regular Integrated ATPL programs at Locarno, providing aircraft-based advanced upset recovery training to a dedicated airline group.
  • AFM previously reported that AELO welcomed its first six SWISS cadets at Locarno Airport in August 2026, becoming the first independent Approved Training Organisation recognised as a SWISS partner flight school. That cooperation includes practical flight training within the ZHAW aviation program, supported by SWISS training oversight and instructor standardisation.
  • AELO's published training offering includes Advanced UPRT using the aerobatic Extra 200 aircraft, supporting practical upset prevention, recognition and recovery exercises.
