Aeroplanned Broadens Pilot Training Resource Planning Platform with New Sector-Specific Capabilities

Global – Pilot training planning software provider Aeroplanned has launched a redesigned website ahead of a major update to its platform, while broadening how the product is positioned across the pilot training industry. The company is now presenting dedicated planning applications for flight schools, simulator centers, airlines and investment decisions, connecting training demand, resource capacity and actual training progress within a common planning environment.

• Aeroplanned's new website identifies four principal applications for the platform: flight schools and academies, simulator centers, airline training departments and investment planning. Across each segment, the underlying approach is to model training demand against available aircraft, simulators, instructors and other capacity, then show where shortages or under-utilization are expected to emerge.
• The redesigned platform is structured around three connected planning levels:
  • Strategic planning establishes longer-term training demand and capacity
  • Tactical planning translates this into requirements including recruitment, enrolments, instructor upgrades, aircraft and simulators;
  • Operational planning determines what training needs to be delivered and prioritized with the resources available
• For flight schools, Aeroplanned models individual and cohort progress against the planned training timeline and uses that progression to forecast future aircraft and instructor demand. Schools can test different student intake sizes, start dates, fleet changes and staffing assumptions before committing to them, while delays in existing training can be reflected in future resource requirements.
• For simulator training centers, the platform brings contracted and anticipated training demand together with simulator capacity and instructor availability. This allows operators to forecast device and qualified-instructor requirements, identify unused capacity that could potentially support additional customers and assess whether new training commitments can be accommodated without displacing existing activity.
• Aeroplanned's airline functionality is designed around the different demands competing for airline training resources, including initial training, new-hire onboarding, upgrades and recurrent requirements. The platform can model future simulator and instructor demand, use recurrent-training windows to distribute activity away from constrained periods and show when pilots undergoing training are expected to become available to the operation.
• Aeroplanned distinguishes the platform from daily scheduling software. Scheduling systems determine individual lessons, flights and simulator sessions, while Aeroplanned is intended to establish the longer-term conditions within which those schedules are built — including forecast training volumes, resource requirements, progress and emerging capacity constraints. It can operate alongside existing scheduling or training systems rather than replacing them.
• As training is delivered, actual progress can be fed back into Aeroplanned through integrations with existing training or scheduling systems. Changes such as cancellations, varying student progression, altered intakes or resource availability can then update future timelines and demand forecasts while retaining the original plan as a benchmark against actual performance.
