Aeroplanned Develops Capacity Planning Feature to Help Flight Schools Model True Operational Potential

April 26, 2026

Global – Aeroplanned, a flight training-focused resource planning and forecasting software provider now operating across 15 countries, has announced the development of a new capacity planning feature currently in beta testing with select customers.

  • The new capability allows flight schools to model their true operational capacity by accounting for location-specific variables including weather, aircraft serviceability, operating days, turnaround times, booking structures, aircraft utilisation, and instructor availability.
  • The feature enables training organisations to test operational scenarios — such as adding Sunday operations, extending opening hours during summer months, or reducing aircraft turnaround times — and immediately see the projected impact on achievable flying hours and throughput.
  • Aeroplanned positions the tool as addressing a common planning gap where flight schools set fleet utilisation targets (e.g. 1,000 hours per aircraft per year) without accounting for the operational constraints that vary significantly between locations, leading to unrealistic benchmarks.
  • The capacity planning feature is built on planning knowledge developed over decades of pilot training operations across multiple global locations, now being productised for Aeroplanned's flight school customer base.
