Global – Pilot training planning software provider Aeroplanned is nearing completion of a major redevelopment of its platform, enhancing the product around connected strategic, tactical and operational planning for flight and pilot training organisations. The expanded approach is intended to connect long-term training demand with recruitment, student intake, aircraft and simulator requirements and daily training priorities, giving training organisations a common planning framework for capacity and resource decisions.

  • The enhanced platform is structured around three connected planning levels:
    • strategic planning for longer-term training demand and capacity;
    • tactical planning covering areas including recruitment, instructor upgrades, enrolments, student progression and aircraft acquisition; and
    • operational planning determining current training priorities and the availability of instructors, aircraft and simulators.
  • Aeroplanned said organisations will be able to use individual elements of the platform rather than adopting all three levels, while information can move between long-term plans and day-to-day operations as actual training performance changes.
  • At the strategic level, the software is being developed to help management balance expected training demand against available capacity over periods extending months or years. Aeroplanned's current public product positioning describes the platform as linking high-level training objectives with decisions on capacity, recruitment, resources and student progress.
  • Tactical functionality is intended to translate those targets into resource decisions, including instructor recruitment and upgrades, student enrolment timing, individual training plans and aircraft acquisition. Operational planning then focuses on which training events should be delivered and prioritised with the instructors, aircraft and simulators available.
