United Kingdom – Aeros Flight Training, one of the UK's most established modular pilot training group's, has appointed Neil Doherty as Chief Operating Officer, strengthening the organization's leadership structure as demand for high-quality commercial pilot training continues to grow.

  • Doherty, who has already played an important role within the Aeros Group, steps into the COO position with a focus on strengthening operational planning, supporting team development, and guiding the next phase of strategic growth.
  • Aeros operates from four UK bases — Cardiff, Gloucester, Leeds East, and Wellesbourne — and has built a distinctive position in the ATO sector through its flexible modular training model, pay-as-you-learn pricing strategy, and strong student support network enabling trainees to progress from first flight through to airline employment.
  • The academy's approach eliminates the requirement for large upfront payments, with students paying for flights individually as they are taken, positioning Aeros as an accessible training pathway for pilots who choose to earn while they learn.
  • Aeros delivers a full suite of recreational and professional modular flight training courses through its Fast-Track and Flexi-Track training pathways, with students achieving UK CAA licences.

Statements

  • "Aeros holds a genuinely distinctive position within the ATO sector. Our modular training model, combined with strong, supportive relationships with our students, enables us to guide individuals from their very first flight through to the airline flight deck. Over the coming months, my focus will be on strengthening our foundations, particularly around our people, our planning functions and how we collaborate as one team," said Neil Doherty, COO of Aeros Flight Training.
  • "Neil's appointment as Chief Operating Officer marks an important step in the continued development of Aeros. Aeros has been built on strong foundations established through the vision and commitment of Martin Lynch, whose passion and dedication have helped position the organisation as a leading provider of pilot training," said Nick Dunn, CEO of Aeros Flight Training.
