France – US-based FAA Part 142 pilot training provider AeroStar Training Services has opened enrolment for planned FAA Airbus A320 type rating training at ICARE's simulator training centre in Morlaix, France. The offering would provide an additional European training location for pilots seeking FAA qualifications, subject to regulatory approval.

  • AeroStar is advertising a November 2026 start for the France-based training program, although FAA certification for the proposed courses remains pending.
  • AFM previously reported that AeroStar and ICARE announced their partnership in April 2026, targeting the introduction of FAA-approved ATP-CTP, initial ATP and Airbus A320 type rating courses.
  • The planned training will utilise ICARE's AMST AIRFOX Airbus A320ceo/neo Level D Full Flight Simulator, which received its initial qualification from the French DGAC in December 2023. The device supports A320ceo CFM56-5B4 and A320neo LEAP-1A26 configurations. ICARE's Morlaix facility operates three full-flight simulators in total, comprising one A320ceo/neo, one CRJ200/700 and one CRJ700/1000 device, alongside an Airbus A320 FNPT II MCC trainer.
