AFM Lists Indian Flight Training Organisation's Immediate Requirement for Cessna 172 or Piper Archer Operating Lease or Purchase

March 27, 2026

India – An investor-backed Indian flight training organisation currently progressing through the DGCA No Objection Certificate (NOC) process is seeking to lease or purchase a fleet of Cessna 172 or Piper Archer (PA-28-181) single-engine training aircraft ahead of a planned operational launch in August 2026, with an initial requirement of six aircraft and a contractual pathway to ten units within the first year of operations.

  • The organisation is a well-capitalised flight training start-up with confirmed investor backing, strong industry partnerships and secured student count positioning lessors and sellers to assess counterparty risk as low.
  • The initial fleet requirement is for six single-engine training aircraft — Cessna 172 or Piper Archer (PA-28-181) — on an operating lease or direct purchase basis, with a contractual growth pathway to ten aircraft within twelve months of launch.
  • A multi-engine type requirement is anticipated within six to eight months of operational launch, as the organisation expands its training programme capability in line with DGCA-regulated pilot training syllabi.
  • Lessors with prior experience supplying aircraft into the Indian DGCA-regulated environment are preferred, though not a mandatory qualification; owners with fleet inventory are invited to submit details.

The requirement is listed on the AFM marketplace and interested parties are invited to submit aircraft details through the AFM platform.
