November 5, 2026

Italy – Lufthansa Group airline Air Dolomiti has reported strong attendance at a European Flight Academy (EFA) pilot career information event held in Milan in late October 2026. The event introduced prospective pilots to the Lufthansa Group's ab initio training pathway, including admission requirements, training arrangements and potential airline career opportunities, supporting the group's engagement with future pilot candidates in Italy.

  • More than 100 aspiring pilots attended the event on October 28, 2026, according to Air Dolomiti. The session took place at the Hilton Garden Inn Milan North from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
  • The event was conducted in English and Italian and focused on European Flight Academy's German pilot training pathway, providing prospective students with information about the academy's training structure and entry requirements.
  • Participants had the opportunity to learn about ATPL training, pilot selection procedures, required competencies, financing options and the progression from initial flight training to airline operations. Air Dolomiti representatives also engaged with attendees on career opportunities within commercial aviation.
  • European Flight Academy's professional pilot training program typically takes approximately 24 months, excluding aircraft type rating training. The academy offers a Take-off Promise under which eligible graduates receive a binding cockpit job offer from a Lufthansa Group airline within 24 months of training completion or, subject to contractual conditions, reimbursement of 50% of their training costs.
  • The German training pathway combines theoretical knowledge instruction in Bremen, single-engine flight training using Cirrus SR20 aircraft at United Aviate Academy in Goodyear, Arizona, and multi-engine training using Diamond DA42 aircraft at Rostock-Laage, Germany. Multi-Crew Cooperation training is delivered at Lufthansa Aviation Training simulator centers.
