India – Air India has opened applications for its Trainee Pilot (A320) position based in Delhi, reflecting ongoing efforts by the national carrier to recruit Airbus narrowbody pilots as fleet activity and pilot demand increases.
The A320 Trainee Pilot role was posted on 23 December 2025 on the Air India careers portal with an application deadline of 10 January 2026.
Applicants must be Indian nationals or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and hold either a DGCA-issued CPL or ATPL with a valid A320 endorsement on their Indian licence.
Minimum educational requirements include completion of 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognised board or university.
Technical and regulatory prerequisites include:
Current Class-I DGCA medical certificate
Current FTROL (Flight Training Roll)
Instrument Rating on A320 aircraft endorsed on Indian licence
English Language Proficiency (ELP) endorsement
Valid radio licences (RTR/A or RTP/P or RTR/C) issued by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India
A mandatory eGCA-ID with relevant licences validated in the DGCA system
The selection process comprises: written test, psychometric assessment, group discussion, personal interview, simulator proficiency assessment check, and a pre-employment medical examination.
Candidates awaiting issuance or renewal of licences or endorsements may apply, but all qualifications must be current at the time of joining.
