Air India’s New CEO and Managing Director Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam Visits Airbus India Training Centre

India – Airbus India Training Centre (AITC), the 50:50 pilot training joint venture between Airbus and Air India, has disclosed that recently appointed Air India CEO and Managing Director Tewolde Gebremariam has visited the training center which plans to grow to an installed base of eight A320 and two A350 full flight simulators.

  • According to Sumita S., Head of Training Business & Operations, Airbus India Training Centre the centre already has six installed A320 full flight simulators represent an increase of four devices compared with the two A320 simulators installed when the facility was inaugurated in September 2025.
  • The Gurugram centre spans approximately 12,000 sq m and is intended to train more than 5,000 pilots over its first decade of operation. Its A320 and A350 training courses are approved by India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
  • AFM previously reported that AITC entered 2026 with two A320neo Full Flight Simulators installed and planned to scale during the year through six additional A320 simulators and two A350 devices. The latest disclosure therefore confirms physical installation progress on four of those additional A320 units.
