New Zealand – Flag carrier Air New Zealand has appointed former Air India Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Campbell Wilson and former Air New Zealand Chief Financial Officer Robert McDonald as directors, effective from the airline's Annual Shareholders' Meeting on 24 September 2026 and subject to shareholder re-election.
- The two incoming directors will join the Board on 24 September, when existing US-based director Larry De Shon will retire after serving since 2020. Existing directors Dean Bracewell and Laurissa Cooney will seek re-election at the same meeting.
- Wilson brings more than three decades of aviation experience. Before leading Air India, he held multiple senior executive positions at Singapore Airlines, including Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, and was the founding CEO of low-cost carrier Scoot. He has also served on the IATA Board of Directors and executive committees of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines and Star Alliance.
- The appointments come while Air New Zealand implements its Te Pae Hou – Our Future strategy reset, which focuses on customer performance, targeted network growth and cost and capital discipline. The airline said in June that it was working with aircraft manufacturers to reprofile aircraft deliveries as part of its capital planning.
- Air New Zealand's operating fleet stood at 115 aircraft as of 30 April 2026: ten Boeing 777-300ERs, 14 Boeing 787s, 17 Airbus A320ceos, 20 A320neo/A321neos, 31 ATR 72-600s and 23 Q300s. It also listed 14 aircraft on order, comprising ten Boeing 787s and four A320neo/A321neo-family aircraft.
