Airbus Europe Training Centre Donates A320 Procedure Trainer to IUT de Blagnac in 2026

France – Airbus Europe Training Centre (AETC) has donated an Airbus A320 Procedure Trainer to IUT de Blagnac for use in aeronautical maintenance education. The device, APT S/N 2RP-517, will support students at IUT de Blagnac and Lycée Saint-Exupéry-Blagnac from the 2026-27 academic year, giving trainees access to an interactive A320 cockpit and systems environment.

• The APT is a fixed, non-motion training device designed to reproduce aircraft procedures and systems without a full-motion platform.
• IUT de Blagnac has already introduced the device into its Licence Professionnelle Maintenance Aéronautique program. Students from the institute and visiting students from Shanghai Dianji University used the APT during the opening days of the new academic year.
• Planned teaching applications include cockpit familiarization, aircraft ground-system test procedures, flight and flight-plan preparation, fault analysis and systems-level instruction linked to aircraft ATA chapters. The institute said the equipment will allow maintenance students to work through scenarios closer to an operational A320 environment.
• The A320 APT joins an existing simulation portfolio at IUT de Blagnac that includes an MTD 340 for aircraft systems and troubleshooting, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and FSX, a TB20 flight-training device, virtual reality applications and Airbus Competence Training software.
• IUT de Blagnac's one-year professional degree in aeronautical maintenance typically enrolls 20 to 30 students and combines university instruction with workplace training. The curriculum prepares technicians for aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness, aircraft systems, testing, quality control and technical support roles.
• Airbus Europe Training Centre currently lists seven Full Flight Simulators and 10 Airbus Pilot/Procedure Trainers across its Toulouse and Hamburg operations, supporting A320, A330, A350 and other Airbus aircraft families.
