Airbus Flight Academy Europe, a Flight School based in Champniers (Angoulême, Charente), France and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus, is looking for Theoretical Knowledge Instructor. Please see an extract of the job post below.

Created in 2006 at the Cognac air base, Airbus Flight Academy Europe provides training assets and services for the Air Force and Navy flight schools for the basic and advanced training of military pilots at the following bases: Avord, Cognac, Lann-Bihoué, Lanvéoc et Salon de Provence.

In 2019, the company decided to deploy its own ab-initio pilot training capability at the Champniers site. As a result, Airbus Flight Academy Europe offers integrated airline pilot training (ATPi) based on the Airbus Pilot Cadet Training Programme.

Since its creation, Airbus Flight Academy Europe has delivered over 470,000 flight hours and 116,500 simulator hours. To support its activities, the company maintains more than 100 aircraft daily, of which 50 are owned.

Job description

To deliver aircraft ground lessons, in English, for the benefit of ab-initio student pilots.

Tasks and missions

  • Conducting the ATPL (Air Transport Pilots Licence) ground lessons in English ;
  • Participate in the creation of training supports in English ;
  • Prepare the training supports and the documents given to the students ;
  • Develop the training supports according to the evolution of the regulations ;
  • Prepare trainees for the ATPL tests.
  • Advising and supporting students ;
  • Ensure individualised follow-up of students;
  • Monitor progress and report on students difficulties;
  • Maintain monitoring indicators.

Profile

  • Possession of Theoretical ATPL desired but not mandatory;
  • Experience in aviation required;
  • Experience in teaching at least one of following subjects:
    1. 081 Principles of Flight
    2. 070 Operational Procedures
    3. 032 Performance
    4. 062 Radio Navigation
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring;
  • Minimum 2 years of higher education or equivalent, engineer level desired;
  • Knowledge on Microsoft Office;
  • English bilingual.”
