France– Airbus has begun the phased opening of its new Europe Training Centre (AETC) in Toulouse, a flagship facility designed to serve as a comprehensive hub for pilot and maintenance technician training. The new centre is located within Airbus’ broader Flight Operations and Training Campus..
- The new AETC is now one of Airbus' largest training facilities globally, with space to double its simulator fleet by 2025 and increase trainee throughput by 50%.
- The facility will operate seven EASA-certified full-flight simulators (FFS) in 2026, including relocated A320, A350, A300/A310, and A380 devices, alongside newly installed simulators.
- A key highlight is the new A330neo simulator, capable of adapting to all A330ceo and neo variants, offering flexible engine and configuration training. Corsair is among the first customers to train on this device.
- A second A350 simulator has also been added, expanding capacity in response to growing A350 fleet deliveries.
- The centre also features eight Airbus Procedure Trainers (APTs), including six new units and two enhanced A350 APT+ devices, covering A320, A330, and A350 types.
- Enhanced classroom environments, rest areas, and simulator bays with natural lighting reflect Airbus’ investment in trainee wellbeing and effective pedagogy.
- The training scope extends to maintenance and structural repair training, with two new laboratories supporting hands-on technician education in composite and metallic structural repairs.
