Aircraft Manufacturer Opens 12-Bay Flight Training Campus in Europe

France – Airbus has made its new Flight Operations & Training Skywise Campus in Toulouse fully operational, consolidating pilot and maintenance training with flight operations and digital-services teams. With annual capacity for approximately 9,000 international trainees and space for up to 12 full flight simulators, the campus expands Airbus’s support for airline fleet entry, recurrent training and workforce development.

• The campus operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, accommodates approximately 650 Airbus employees and includes 2,000 square metres of technical classrooms.
• Its planned 2026 simulator inventory comprises seven EASA-certified full flight simulators:
  • 2x Airbus A320 devices.
  • 2x Airbus A350 devices.
  • 1x Airbus A330neo device configurable for A330ceo and A330neo variants.
  • 1x Airbus A300/A310 device.
  • 1x Airbus A380 device.
• The centre also operates eight Airbus Procedure Trainers, comprising six new devices and two A350 APT+ units, with coverage including the A320, A330 and A350 families.
• Digital courseware allows pilots to practise procedures before entering the full flight simulator, reserving instructor-led sessions for crew coordination, decision-making and scenario-based training.
• Two structural-repair laboratories provide practical training on metallic and composite airframe structures. The A330neo simulator can also support maintenance engine-run training across A330ceo and A330neo engine configurations.
• Airbus Training issues approximately 22,000 certificates annually across its network, including as many as 10,000 from Toulouse. Customer training periods at the campus range from one to seven weeks depending on the activity.
• Airbus forecasts that the aviation industry will require 2.35 million new professionals by 2044: 633,000 pilots, 705,000 technicians and 1.01 million cabin crew.
• The campus has received BREEAM “Very Good” certification covering areas including its carbon footprint, water management and renewable-energy use.
