Philippines – Airworks Aviation Academy, one of the largest flight training organisations in the country, was named by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the joint press conference with Vietnamese President Tô Lâm on 1 June 2026, highlighting the strategic partnership between VietJet Aviation Academy and Airworks Aviation Academy as a landmark outcome of the first-ever Vietnamese presidential state visit to the Philippines.

  • The presidential-level recognition elevates the Airworks–VietJet training partnership from a commercial arrangement to a bilateral diplomatic achievement, positioning Philippine flight training as a strategic asset in Philippines-Vietnam relations.
  • Airworks serves as the exclusive cadet pilot training partner of Cebu Pacific, the Philippines' largest airline, which holds a USD 24 billion order for 152 new Airbus aircraft — the largest order in Philippine aviation history. That relationship led VietJet, which holds orders for 600+ aircraft across Airbus and Boeing (the largest orderbook of any airline in Southeast Asia), to select Airworks as its cadet pilot training partner in the Philippines.
  • The Philippines positions itself as a structural answer to Asia-Pacific pilot training demand, offering English as the primary language of instruction, ICAO-compliant training standards, lower overall training costs than most competing countries, and a culture and environment suited to international airline cadet programs.
