Alaska Air Group Unveils Honolulu Operations Leadership in 2025

Honolulu, USA – Alaska Air Group unveiled the Honolulu leadership team that will manage the combined operations of Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines’ Hawaiʻi services, following full FAA approval of a single operating certificate expected this fall. With Honolulu as Alaska Air Group’s second-largest hub—supporting over 6,500 Hawaiʻi-based employees and operating 180+ daily flights connecting Neighbor Islands as well as trans-Pacific routes—this leadership team will focus on operational integration, safety performance, network growth, and guest loyalty system consolidation.

• Jim Landers, senior vice president of technical operations at Hawaiian, is appointed as head of Hawai‘i operations. Reporting to CEO Joe Sprague, he will oversee safety, operations, maintenance, supply chain, and system operations control during transition.
• Jonathan Goo, from Alaska Air Group Safety, becomes safety director for island operations
• Melodi Pieper joins as HR regional director
