ALSIM Prepares AL250 Simulator Installation at Mapúa MCL in the Philippines

August 18, 2026

Philippines – Flight simulator manufacturer ALSIM is preparing to install a new simulator at Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) in the Philippines following completion of its Factory Acceptance Test at ALSIM's facilities in Nantes, France.

  • ALSIM's announcement did not identify the simulator model. However, Mapúa MCL currently lists an "ALSIM 250 with MathLab" as equipment for its Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation Management programs, while an April 2026 description of the institute's new aviation facilities also identified an ALSIM 250 among the planned equipment.
  • The AL250 is a reconfigurable simulator supporting single-engine piston and multi-engine piston aircraft environments for PPL, CPL and IR/ME training applications. ALSIM states that more than 100 AL250 devices are operating globally.
  • ALSIM offers the AL250 with EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD and Transport Canada FTD 2 qualification configurations.
  • The simulator is being introduced through the Mapúa-Laguna Institute of Aviation, which offers Bachelor of Science programs in Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation Management alongside aircraft maintenance education. The institute was established as part of Mapúa MCL's expansion into aviation education in 2024.
  • Mapúa MCL is also developing its Da Vinci Building for aviation programs. Published plans for the facility identify technical workshops, maintenance simulation equipment, SkyArt devices, an Airbus A320 cockpit simulator and virtual reality training alongside the ALSIM platform.
  • The latest deployment adds to ALSIM's installed presence in the Philippine aviation education market. AFM previously reported that WCC Aeronautical and Technological College added an AL250 and a second ALX in 2025, increasing its ALSIM fleet to three devices.
  • AFM also previously reported that ALSIM's installed global base had exceeded 400 devices across more than 60 countries, covering flight schools, universities and military training organizations.
