Alt Academy Continues Boeing 737 NG Type Rating Training for Safair Pilots in South Africa

South Africa – Johannesburg-based aviation training organisation and full flight simulator training centre Alt Academy trained a new cohort of pilots from South African low-cost carrier Safair on its Boeing 737 NG Full Initial Type Rating program over the last few months.

• The current cohort includes pilots Cobus Engelbrecht and Benjamin B Van Coller, who are undertaking their NG Full Initial Type Rating training under the instruction of Alt Academy instructor Hendrik vd Berg.
• The training continues an established relationship between Alt Academy and Safair, with previous cohorts of Safair pilots completing Initial Type Rating training at the academy across 2025.
