American Airlines Announces Latest Appointment for Managing Director, Flight Training and Standards
American Airlines has appointed Mr. Alan Johnson as the new Managing Director for Flight Training and Standards.
As Managing Director of Flight Training and Standards, Mr. Johnson is responsible for all pilot training at American Airlines including planning, development, and implementation of all policies, programs, and budgets required for the accomplishment of all phases and aspects of American Airlines’ flight crew and instructor/evaluator within the purview of FAA directives and the airline’s Advance Qualification Program (AQP).
Oversight and leadership of the Flight Training and Standards department includes management, Check Pilots, Flight Crew Training Instructors, Simulator Pilots, Program Development team, Pilot Records team, and Administrative Support teams. The department supports approximately 15,000 American Airlines pilots.
