American Airlines’ Decision to Close Charlotte Pilot Training Base is on Pause Due to the Increasing Demand in Leisure Travel
American Airline’s message to pilots on the 13th of August, Friday, says that it is pausing the closing of its Charlotte Pilot Training Base as it faces “the single largest increase in leisure travel the airline has ever seen”.
The airline initially decided to close the base and transfer pilot training and flight simulators at its headquarters in North Texas.
Charlotte base is equipped with four (4) Airbus A320 simulators and about 80-85 flight instructions and simulator technicians.
