Georgia, USA – US flight training group ATP Flight School has hosted representatives from SkyWest Airlines at its Lawrenceville training centre at Gwinnett County Airport (LZU) in September 2026. The visit provided student pilots and instructors with direct access to airline representatives to discuss professional pilot careers and progression through ATP's established SkyWest pilot pathway.

  • SkyWest Airlines hired 119 ATP Flight School graduates between January and August 2026, according to ATP's September recruitment update, making it the largest regional airline employer of the school's graduates during that period.
  • During the Lawrenceville visit, SkyWest representatives shared operational and career experiences with students and instructors, answered questions and discussed the transition from flight training to airline operations.
  • ATP is an Elite Partner in the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program, allowing eligible students to apply from the beginning of their flight training. Accepted cadets receive mentorship, interview preparation and seniority-related benefits, with a guaranteed First Officer interview subject to meeting SkyWest's hiring requirements.
  • AFM previously reported that ATP hosted a similar SkyWest Airlines recruitment visit at its Long Beach, California training centre in August 2026. ATP also reported that 122 new cadets joined the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program in May, demonstrating recruitment activity across the school's national network.
  • ATP's Lawrenceville training centre supports its Airline Career Pilot Program and Flex Commercial Pilot Program, including multi-engine flight training. The facility includes classrooms, simulator bays, a maintenance centre and approximately 20,000 square feet of hangar space.
