Auburn University School of Aviation Names New Leader for Professional Flight Program in 2025
Alabama, USA – Auburn University School of Aviation has appointed Dr. David “Rock” Bottomlee as Director of Flight Education, placing him at the helm of one of the largest university-based aviation programs in the United States.

In his new role, Dr. Bottomlee will oversee the Professional Flight program and aircraft maintenance operations for 650 aviation students.

The program operates with a team of 120 certified flight instructors (CFIs) and 25 Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certified maintenance technicians.

Auburn’s training fleet comprises 65 Cessna Skyhawks and Piper Seminoles, supporting a mix of ab initio and advanced flight training.
