Australian Airline to Receive First E190-E2, Replacing Fokker 100 in September 2025
Australia – Virgin Australia Regional Airlines is preparing to introduce its first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft this September, marking the first brand-new aircraft to enter the Western Australia charter market in recent times.

The E190-E2 will replace Virgin Australia’s aging Fokker 100s, delivering:

30% lower emissions, supporting the airline’s sustainability goals.

The quietest performance in its class, enhancing passenger and community experience.

The aircraft will strengthen Virgin Australia’s charter operations in Western Australia, a region heavily reliant on aviation for resource sector connectivity.

Ahead of entry into service, Virgin Australia’s flight crew, cabin crew, and engineers are undergoing intensive preparation, including simulator training at CAE’s Training Centre in Singapore.
