Australian Flight School Hosts Letter of Intent Ceremony for 43 New IndiGo Cadets in December 2025

December 15, 2025

Australia – Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) hosted a Letter of Intent (LoI) ceremony for 43 newly selected cadets under the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program. The event marked another significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between FTA and India's largest airline by fleet size, IndiGo. The ceremony was attended by IndiGo staff, cadet families, and FTA’s Chief Representative - India, Mrs. Neeru Britton.

  • The program features a multi-phase training model, beginning with ground theory in Gurgaon, India, followed by 10 months of practical training in Australia.
  • Over 100 IndiGo cadets are currently in training at FTA’s South Australian and Queensland campuses.
  • FTA has a fleet of nearly 80 aircraft, a strong safety record, and on-site residential facilities for cadets.
Back in November 2023 India's largest low cost carrier IndiGo and Australian flight training organisation Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) formally extended their existing partnership for the IndiGo Cadet Training Program. Michael Wallis, FTA’s Business Development Manager, visited India to commemorate the contract extension. The handover ceremony was conducted by Capt. Ashim Mittra, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, who was joined by a delegation of IndiGo and FTA staff.
