South Africa & Australia – Australian flight simulator manufacturer GeoSim Technologies has secured South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) FNPT II accreditation for its Air Tractor AT-802 simulator installed at Ag Aviation Flight Academy (AAFA) in Stellenbosch.

AAFA currently uses the AT-802 simulator for five-day agricultural and firefighting recurrency courses combining ground school with synthetic flight training.
The device allows instructors to rehearse scenarios that would be difficult or inappropriate to reproduce in an aircraft, including engine failures and fires, hot or hung starts, flight-control failures, fuel and electrical malfunctions, stalls and other emergency conditions. GeoSim also supports agricultural GPS integration and mission-specific aerial firefighting scenarios on its AT-802 platform.
